Anger and shock are said to be blowing over the Upper East Region, following a leaked conversation between the Upper East Regional police commander and some warlords of the Mamprusi divide of the Bawku conflict.

The leaked conversation in the possession of this Paper, exposed what could be described as the bias stance of the police chief.

ACP Raymond Ali, is heard telling the group  at the premises of the regional police command that he is shocked that despite the preferential treatment he gives to the Mamprusis, they still insult him on social media.

“I am giving you special treatment, yet you are insulting me on social media. Which tribe get  escorts like we do for you? Do we escort the Kussasis?”.

He confessed before the group that he is very much aware of those wielding guns among them, but he has decided not to arrest them.

He disclosed in the said conversation that ,“some of you shots at me, yet when you come here, I still give you escorts”.

The leaked voice has sparked outrage within the region as many are asking the fairness of the commander relative to the protracted conflict.
