The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 47-year-old woman in connection with the killing of two relatives at NTHC Estate, Sakumono, in the Greater Accra Region, and declared another suspect wanted.
The woman, identified as Beatrice Mumuni, is alleged to have led the principal suspect, Samuel Christopher Osei Anto, to the residence of the victims before the killings on Friday, October 30, 2026.
The victims, George Atuguba, 57, and his 47-year-old niece, Irene Atuguba, were reportedly shot dead following a confrontation at their residence.
In a statement announcing the arrest, the police said Osei Anto was being sought to assist investigations and offered a GH¢100,000 reward for credible information leading to his arrest.
The police have urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the Service through its emergency numbers, 191 or 18555.
Preliminary police findings suggest that the killings may have been triggered by a financial dispute involving GH¢500,000 allegedly owed by George Atuguba.
According to earlier police accounts, Osei Anto reportedly visited the victims’ residence with Mumuni to demand repayment of the money.
A misunderstanding allegedly ensued during the encounter, resulting in the shooting of the two relatives.
While Mumuni has been arrested, Osei Anto remains at large as police intensify efforts to locate him.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the killings.
