The former President, John Dramani Mahama and Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are expected to participate in the 2023 Maari-Bowu Festival of the Chiefs and people of Tem Awurana in the Oti region on Saturday, May 20.
The festival is celebrated by the Chief and people of Kue in the Nkwanta South of the Oti region and across the globe by the Tem people.
This was contained in a press statement issued in Accra and signed by the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Wuro Adamu Salifu and copied to the Overlord and President of Tem Divisional Council, Ghana, Wuro Esso. Dawood Chedre Brenai II, the Wuro for California and Diaspora Wuro for America and caretaker for Asia, Wuro Yahya Lumba Sandu and the Tem Wuro for Hamburg, Germany, and Diaspora Wuro for Europe, Wuro Sakib Abdul Latif, said Mr Mahama and Dr Bawumia would be guests of honour for the festival.
The festival is being organised by the Greater Accra regional Chapter of the Tem Awurana Council under the Tem Divisional Council, Ghana under the theme; “Come Feel The Experience Of Tem Culture And Tradition.”
The festival will come off at Madina Astro Turf Park at Madina Zongo in the La-Nkwantanag Municipality of the Greater Accra region of Ghana at 11:00am.
The statement called on indigenes of Tem in the Greater Accra region and the diaspora to participate in the 2023 Maari-Bowu festival slated for Saturday May 20 2023.
It further said their participation in the Maari-Bowu festival would be significant in highlighting the importance of collaboration and promotion of social cohesion among Tem communities under the Tem Divisional Council, Ghana.
The statement concluded that it would be honoured to have Tem Awurana people at the festival and would appreciate if they honour the invitation.
