Dome -Kwabenya MP supports constituents after fire ravaged their homes

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome – Kwabenya, Elikplim  Akurugu, has donated relief items to  residents of Haatso, following a devastating fire outbreak, which swept through their community on February 12, 2025.

The inferno, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, destroyed properties and rendered many inhabitants of the community homeless, compelling the MP, to go to their rescue.

During the visit, the MP expressed deep sympathy for the affected residents and assured them of both immediate and long-term support.

The immediate support saw   the MP donating essential items, including food supplies and toiletries.

The Assembly Member for Haatso, Mr Philip Nii Kpakpo Samoah Addoquaye, who was   present, indicated that they are working tirelessly to assess the damage and coordinate additional aid for the victims.

The Spokesperson for the MP, Mr Makafui Klutse, who later spoke with The Herald, highlighted the gratitude expressed by the community leaders for the swift response of the MP, emphasizing the need for long-term solutions to prevent similar disasters in the future.

“The gesture was warmly received by the victims, many of whom lost everything in the inferno”, he added.
