The Petroleum Commission has engaged senior officials of international energy company Galp as part of efforts to attract investment into Ghana’s upstream petroleum sector ahead of the 2026 Local Content Conference and Exhibition (LCCE).

The meeting focused on Ghana’s available petroleum acreages, investment opportunities and the fiscal regime governing the upstream industry.

In a statement, the Commission said the engagement formed part of its ongoing consultations with prospective investors and stakeholders in the petroleum sector.

The Commission, which regulates Ghana’s upstream petroleum industry, said it remained committed to providing prospective investors with relevant information on opportunities in the country’s hydrocarbon resources.

The engagement comes as the Commission steps up preparations for the 2026 Local Content Conference and Exhibition, scheduled for next week.
