Re: PNC boycotts all NDC events for assault on its general secretary

The attention of the PNC has been drawn to news and media reports with the above caption making it imperative for the Party to clarify the matter in order not to injure the image of the party as a brand.

It is of public knowledge and record that the PNC having received an invitation from the NDC addressed to the National Chairman mandated the National Communications Secretary, National Youth Organizer, the National Women’s Organizer and the Upper West Regional Organizer to attend the Congress on behalf of the Party.

These officers attended the Congress and were duly acknowledged and given the opportunity just like other invited sister party representatives  to deliver a Solidarity Message which received considerable applause by the good people of Ghana.

It is therefore shocking to hear of a purported attack on Ms Janet Nabla the suspended General Secretary of the party by supposed thugs whom she is yet to identify.

As far as the PNC is concerned, Ms Janet Nabla stands suspended and had no right whatsoever to represent the Party at the just ended Congress of the NDC. To be stopped from accessing the for not possessing the requisite accreditation to the Congress cannot amount to an assault. For the records, the PNC is run by an acting General Secretary in the person of Mr Prince Agyemang Duah.

The PNC wishes to apologize to the NDC for the sinister agenda of our former General Secretary seeking to portray the NDC as a violent party in an attempt to court the sympathies of her benefactors through whom she has been running down the PNC. We further assure the good people of Ghana that we cherish our relationship with the NDC as opposition parties with ideological similarities and our doors are opened for any collaboration of mutual interest as far as the progress and development of Ghana is concerned.
