Some students of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) have described the response of its management regarding the expulsion of two students from a hostel as a mere PR stunt.
According to them, the management’s response to the expulsion carried out by the hostel management was to save face following the backlash the action garnered on social media.
“I mean, like every other place, there are regulations…I’m stunned; why would you issue this communique first and now take it back? Are you trying to save the image of the school?” one of the students quizzed.
“I think it does not matter because we’re all human beings, and we’re all matured here; they [management] shouldn’t have taken any action against them, knowing they will later come and say this,” another student said.
A statement by the institute on Monday said the said females fondled each other during their threesome sexual escapade and engaged in some form of lesbianism.
“Engaging in acts of lesbianism is contrary to Section 1.28.11(g) of the Student Handbook of the University of Professional Studies, Accra; 2018 and Schedule G 8.3 (23) of the Statute of the University.
“They have since been dismissed from UPSA Hostel awaiting further sanctions from Management,” part of the announcement read.
However, reacting to the statement, the school’s management stated that the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has not decided on two female students accused of lesbianism during a threesome.
