Zoomlion Donates Water Closets To Gt Accra Police Command

Leading waste management company zoomlion Ghana Ltd, has donated 30 mobile toilets and 50 waste bins to the Greater Accra Regional Command of the Ghana Police service to aid the service in carrying out its mandate.

According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Zoomlion Ghana, Robert Coleman, the donation is aimed at assisting personnel of the community policing unit of the Ghana police service in attending to nature’s call.

He explained that in addition to the mobile toilets also known as “Zoom Cabins”, his outfit is also presenting 50 waste bins to the police to ensure proper sanitation and effective policing.

Zoomlion also made available a cesspit emptier that would empty the mobile toilets on a regular basis.

“We have deployed workers with the necessary toiletries based on where the police place the Zoom cabins to disinfect and keep the zoom cabins clean on a daily basis”, explained Mr. Coleman.

He noted that Zoomlion believes that policing is a shared responsibility and as a result the company is dedicated to assisting the police service in carrying out its mandate of ensuring law and order in the country.

He also pledged future commitments towards improving the work of the Ghana police service.

The zoom cabin has a flushing system, a soap dispenser and a hand washing system neatly and hygienically designed to ensure absolute convenience.

The greater Accra regional police commander DCOP Christian Tettey Yohuno who received the items expressed gratitude to Zoomlion for their continuous commitment to the work of the Ghana Police Service.

He explained that the inspector general of police has instituted the community policing to increase police visibility and accessibility and as a result the Zoom cabins is very essential to the work of the police.

“The absence of places of convenience for our men on the field has been a major concern to the service and we really appreciate this donation”, explained DCOP Yohuno.

He explained that the police visibility and accessibility has helped to reduce the rate of crime in the country adding that the Ghana Police Service is poised to reduce crime to the barest minimum.

He entreated zoomlion to extend the donations to other regions to help in the efficient enforcement of law and order.
