In keeping with its slogan that, “Profit is good, but your health is our focus,” X Mineral water, a brand name in the mineral water industry with focus on producing strictly natural mineral water, refreshed the maiden edition of the Parle marathon.
The marathon which was held in Dansoman and covered a 5km stretch and was won by Dansoman based Most Holy Heart School.
For their prize, the winners received a trophy, medals, certificate and products from sponsors, including X Mineral Water, Parle Biscuit and Nunu Milk.
First Runner was Ave Maria School also based in Dansoman, with St. Martin Deb Pores and De Youngsters School following suit in third and fourth position respectively.
Twenty boys and twenty girls, have qualified for the next stage of the quadrilateral marathon to be held on December 22 at McCarthy Hill, Accra.
The race, started from the Dansoman Roundabout, through Ave Maria Junction, Akokor Photo Junction through to Sharp Curve, Mass Junction, Zodiac to Christian Home, where the finish line was.
Organizers say, the Adentan Municipality, will host the next race and that Kumasi Community School, will host next year’s edition.
The competition is divided into community, mountain, beach and field marathons. It was put together by Dreamland Sports Plus and refreshed by X Mineral Water.
50 schools were invited to take part in the event.
