Western Region Would Be Free From Criminals –Commander

The western regional police commander, deputy commissioner of police (DCOP), Isaac Alex Quainoo, has promised to flash out criminals from the region.

DCOP Quainoo, who revealed this to the media in Takoradi recently, said that any individual, who is caught in any form of criminal activity, ranging from robbery, car snatching, prostitution etc, would be dealt with according to the laws of the land.

The commander, who until his assumption was the Deputy Commander for the Brong Ahafo and the Upper East region, said based on his past experience, his current region is one of the busiest due to the oil find, hence a lot of criminals want to make the place a haven for their activities, this he said would not be counternance.

DCOP Quainoo said, a lot of strategies have been mapped up to curb any illegal activity that would seek to disturb the peace in the region.
He added that over three hundred (300) motor traffic offenders, have already been arrested, some of them have been fined, while others were acquitted and discharged.

He charged everybody in the region to provide the police with the necessary information on any criminal, since they stay with them in the community.

He added that when the citizens volunteer information, Ghana would be rid of criminals.

On Galamsey, DCOP Quainoo said, it has been very rampant in the region; this situation leads to many death, as a result of pits collapsing on the miners.

He concluded that his outfit, would clampdown on all mining companies, which has no license to operate.
