A violent assault on a UK-based activist of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has marred a fundraising event attended by the party’s 2016 flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Claims are that, Nana Addo’s 69-year old bodyguard, Captain Edmond Koda, was deeply involved in the assault on the NPP activist by name Kwame Oheneba Boakye at the Young Executive Forum (YEF) fund raising in UK.
The Herald got a picture of the victim in his torn shirts. He talked about suffering bruises on his nose, as a result of the attack.
Reports are that, while delivering his speech, Akufo-Addo, fell short of showering praises on Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako alias “Wontumi” for his barbaric attack on the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manyhia North, insulting the IGP, and creating mess in the Manhyia North Parliamentary Primaries at Kumawu.
According to the victim of the brutal attack, who is an NPP member in good standing, he openly expressed his disgust at what Nana Addo was doing by loudly exclaiming he should stop that.
This, according to Kwame Oheneba Boakye was after “Nana started praising Wontumi that Wontumi is the one and only wontumi”.
“So I shouted and rush forward to tell Nana that, he shouldn’t praise Wontumi, because Wontumi has spoilt the Party in the Ashanti Region”, the
But “upon such a harmless protest, about four rebellion macho men, including Akufo-Addo’s security coordinator, Captain Koda were on me. They liaised with the hotel’s security and drove me out”.
He revealed that, “when we were outside, Captain Koda, held my neck and torn my shirt and tie. I suffered bruises on my nose.”
