Celebrated Ghanaian actor, Van Vicker, stormed the launch of this year’s Talented Kids programme with his three adorable children to add some spice to the show which brings out the creativity of children, last Sunday in Accra.
The show, which is in its sixth year, brought together, children from all walks of life, some were accompanied by their parents and guardians.
Speaking after the show, the award winning actor, expressed excitement about the programme and commended the organizers, TV3 Network for a good initiative.
Flanked by his two daughters and son, Mr. Vicker, said he enjoyed every aspect of the show, which comes off this Sunday 4pm to 6pm, as well as every other Sunday.
Other celebrities, who graced the show were actress, Gloria Nana Ama Osafo of “Effiewura” fame, and other Chorkor Trotro actors, a very popular entertainment series on the television station.
The launch, which was aired live on television had performances from singers, Double and rapper Stay J and past winners and contestants.
In the next 13 weeks, children selected from the Greater Accra and the Ashanti Regions, would thrill viewers with inbuilt talents some of which includes, poetry recital, acting, singing, dancing, rapping, as well as playing of instruments.
Head of Corporate Affairs, Nicolina Annor, said TV3 Network Limited would not only discover the talents of these children, but groom and nurture them to become better entertainers in future.
She commended the judges for the auditioning, which had several children from various places storm the two venues to try to exhibit the talent in them. The 27 children, who made it for this year she said would be entertaining, informing and educating viewers.
“This year, we are taking it to a different dimension, we want to raise the levels of creativity and get the children to discover within themselves other talents they possibly were unaware of.
I am sure by they would put in all their effort, work hard and entertain the nation. So get prepared to be wowed and get prepared for a real roller coaster of emotions because there will be joy, there will be excitement, there will be disappointment, and possibly genres of talents from these truly talented kids”, she said.
According to Mrs. Annor, “What makes Talented Kids stand out from any other children’s programme, is that TV3 goes the extra mile to not only discover talents, but the station takes enormous pride in developing that talent, so that by the end of the 13 weeks, you have confidence as a young star, ready for the many wonderful opportunities that lies ahead of you”.
