Tema Police Appeals For Support

Against Land Guard Nuisance

The Tema Regional Police Commander, DCOP Beatrice Zakpaa Vib –Sanziri is appealing to residents and stakeholders in the Dodowa District, especially Ayikuma and its environs to collaborate with the police to fight the nuisance of land guards in the area.

According to her, the actions of land guards are posing a security threat to the police and other law abiding citizens, thus need to be weeded out completely.

She again sounded a word of caution to some chiefs, land owners and estate developers, who engage land guards, instead of resorting to the law courts, adding that they will be severely dealt with by the police through law, hence no amount of “Intimidation” will stop them.

Again, “Some bad nuts within the police service who also shield or aid these land guards and their financiers will also be dealt with when caught in any unprofessional behavior”, she noted.

‘Strategies are put in place to reduce the incidence of crime and also the fear of crime by residents and also clamp down on the activities of these land guards and other violent criminals”, she intimated.

She disclosed this in her remark, during a commissioning of Ayikuma police station in the Dodowa district.

DCOP Vib-Sanziri, revealed that her outfit would support the good efforts of the police in Ayikuma to ensure that everybody goes about their lawful activities without any hindrance.

She lauded estate developers such as, Forever Estate, Castle Gate Estate and the Dodowa District Assembly for the role they played in revamping of the police station.
she further called for support with the needed logistics such as computers and other office equipment to enable the personnel carry out their duties at the station.

The Ayikuma police station was burnt down some years back and it has been rebuilt by the help of some organizations to open a new chapter in the relationship between the police and the people of the Ayikuma community.

She extols the chief of Dodowa, Nene Ahugyaga, Chief of Asebi Nene Asiza and Mr. Abladu Tetteh Quao, whose tireless efforts has gone a long way to see the reconstruction of the police station.
