A Pan African Summit on Financial Management for Financial Managers, Accountants, Finance Officers or Directors and Budget Officers would take place in Sandton City, South Africa.
The summit, which would be held in October, 2014, is under the theme; “Financial Management for Growth and Development”.
It is organized by the International Institute for Governance and Development (IIGD) in collaboration with the South African Institute of Financial Management, and under the auspices of other regional bodies.
The Herald is reliably informed that, participants will be drawn from across Africa to attend the event, including the West African Executive Director for IIGD, Rev. Dr. Godwin P. Davids.
The conference, according to the organizers “will enhance the capacity of participants to be effective and responsible for obtaining and effectively utilizing the funds necessary for efficient operation, financial decision making, harmonizing individual motives and enterprise
The summit is also targeted at helping participants strengthen their capacity in order to use funds judiciously and identify careful selection of sources of capital for their individual organizations to achieve its goals.
According to the organizers, the summit will also “enhance their knowledge in planning, raising, controlling and administering of funds on how to raise the capital, how to allocate and the efficient and effective management of funds.”
This will in many ways accomplish the objectives of the participants’ organizations and bring development in their nations and the continent as a whole.
According to them, “there will be special activities and tour for participants to learn practical lessons in Financial Management from the South African perspective”.
