First three evictees of TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful reality show, have received a total of thirty thousand exercise books worth GH¢66, 000, for distribution in their home regions.
The gesture is from one of the sponsors of the show, Samara Group of Companies, producers of Sasso Insecticides Spray, Starch, Mosquito Coil, Samazone Thick Bleach etc. Each of the three ladies is entitled to ten thousand books for distribution in their respective regions.
The three namely: Afia from the Brong Ahafo Region; Nana from the Western Region and the Central Regional representative, BB, will be collaborating with the Ministry of Education in their regions to distribute the books to some selected basic schools.
The project, first of its kind on the show, was lauded at the presentation ceremony held last Thursday in Accra, where the three ladies graced the occasion to be presented with the branded books.
The books, have pictures of the contestants dressed in their traditional apparel and other important information embossed on them. The other seven, some of whom have already exited from the show, will also be presented with their copies at a yet to be announced date.
According to the Marketing Manager of the company, Sedrick N. Ologo, the presentation forms part of his outfit’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the citizenry and to support government in providing quality education for all.
Riding on the good products it has released on to the market over the period, Mr Ologo, hinted that the company would on October 31, 2014, receive an award for “Top Emerging Brand 2014”, which will be presented by Premier Brands in Accra.
The Executive Chairman of Samara Group of Companies, Sampson Effah-Apraku, said as a Ghanaian company, it believed in Ghanaian culture, one of the reasons they joined in sponsoring the ever popular reality show, which showcases rich Ghanaian culture and tradition.
Mr. Effah-Apraku, a businessman from the Brong Ahafo Region, dispelled the notion that his company is owned by a foreigner, urging the public to patronize their products to help grow the brand, while ensuring that one of their own survives the test of time. He reminded the ladies to call on the company anytime they needed help.
The Brands Manager of TV3 Network, Mr. Felix Dontoh, commended Samara Group of Companies for partnering the Ghana Most Beautiful show, adding that the station spends half of its yearly budget on the show, finals of which comes off this Sunday at the International Conference Centre (AICC).
The four finalists are; Ama from the Eastern Region, Lamine representing the Upper East Region, Ewoe from the Volta Region and Baci from the Upper West Region.
He noted that “This shows couldn’t have gone on if companies like this” Samara Group of Companies which consists of: Samara Pharmacy, Samara Pharmaceutical Ltd, Samara Construction Ltd and Samara Companies ltd, hadn’t come on board.
He called on other corporate organizations to support the show. Board Chairman of Samara Group of Companies, Nana Dr. Appiagyei, Omanhene of Ashante Juaben Traditional Area, emphasized the uniqueness of the show, because it brings out the rich cultural identity of different tribes and traditions from the ten regions of the country on one platform, where people are educated on other people’s culture and as a result, they are accepted as they are without being tagged.
He said, the show makes Ghana a place of choice, adding that the educational bit introduced by Samara Group of Companies, will help promote quality education and culture.
A Deputy Minister of Education in-charge of pre-tertiary and Member of Parliament for Techiman North, Alex Kyeremeh, was highly impressed with the company’s singular effort, adding that education, is a shared responsibility. He expressed the Ministry’s readiness to offer support to whoever needs it.
