Tema Assembly Members Tells Prez. Mahama
Assembly members in the Tema Metropolis are appealing to President John Dramani Mahama, to retain the incumbent Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Kempes Ofosuware.
According to them, the Metropolis has never experienced and felt involved in local government issues as it has felt under Mr Ofosuware and, therefore, there is the need for the President to re-appoint him.
Addressing the press conference, the presiding member for the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA), Romeo Elikplim Akahoho, disclosed that the assembly was in support of the appeal being made to the President by the assembly members.
He said, Kempes Ofosuware, during his four (4) years tenure as the MCE, has brought unity and team work on the business of the Assembly.
He further noted that “the agenda of the house has ended in unison, devoid of partisanship and rancour, as happens at other assemblies”.
Mr Akahoho revealed that the MCE, has indeed kept faith with the people of Tema and has worked extremely hard to set the Tema Metropolis on a path to the realization of the Better Ghana Agenda saying, “we, the grass-roots can readily point to the massive improvement in the road sector throughout the Metropolis.
He further noted that “the Mayor has adopted an all-inclusive approach to governance and this is largely appreciated and applauded by all of us”.
He further reiterated his commitment and that of the general house of the TMA to work with Kempes Ofosuware, hence the plea that President John Dramani Mahama, should give him another opportunity to continue with his good work, that is gradually but steadily transforming Tema to its original status as a model Assembly.
