…To Help Plead For Forgiveness
The embattled individual, Aminu Abdulai, who is at the centre of claims that the acting National Coordinator of the National Youth Authority (NYA), has engaged in corruption, misappropriation of funds and forgery, has secretly rushed to Mr. Hassan Ayariga, the 2012 flag-bearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC) ,to beg on his behalf over false claims he made against the acting Coordinator.
The gentleman, who is a staff of the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD), but on secondment to the NYA as Director of Finance, has yet to provide any evidence to back his claims against Ras Mubarak.
But The Herald, has intercepted a secret tape recording between Mr. Ayariga and Ras Mubarak in which the PNC’s flagbearer, was heard pleading with the NYA boss to rescind his decision to drag Aminu Abdulai to court.
Mr. Ayariga, was heard telling Ras Mubarak to drop the matter and recall the dismissed Director of Finance on the grounds that they were both from the Northern Region.
According to the PNC’s flagbearer, Mr. Abdulai, who has been on accusation spree, and hopping from one radio station to the other, had admitted his fault and pleaded to be reconsidered, since he has learnt his lesson.
The Herald, has also taken possession of some exclusive documents from the Controller and Accountant General’s Department, about allegations of forgery of signature peddled by the gentleman against the NYA Coordinator, Ras Mubarak.
One of the documents, dated October 24, 2014, was titled Change of Signature and signed by the Deputy Controller and Accountant-General, Andrews K.K Kufe.
The letter which indicated a change of Mr. Aminu Abdulai signature to be replaced with Madam Gladys Ohene Kwaasi, a Senior Accountant of NYA, was copied to acting National Coordinator of the NYA.
The emergence of the letter was in sharp contrast to Mr. Abdulai’s accusation that the NYA boss, had forged his signature.
Another document which The Herald is carefully studying, is a leaked memo from the Ministry of Youth And Sports which was written and signed by the Chief Director, Alhaji Abudulai Yakubu to the Minister, regarding 450,000 feeding grant which the gentleman claimed has been misappropriated by Ras Mubarak.
It has emerged that the dismissed Director of Finance, on Monday, November 3, was willing to meet with Mr. Mubarak personally and ask for forgiveness, but the NYA Coordinator held his grounds and declined the meeting.
Mr. Mubarak, had since told Mr. Ayariga that not a plea from his mother, will make him drop the matter and stop him from proceeding to court to clear his name.
Last week, a staff of the CAGD, who was on secondment to the National Youth Authority, accused Ras Mubarak of alleged corruption, misappropriation of funds, and forgery among other things.
He told an Accra based newspaper, ‘The New Crusading Guide’ that the reason Mr. Mubarak sacked him from the NYA, was that he had refused to “steal public funds” for him.
As at yesterday, The Herald, was reliably informed that, Mr. Mubarak, since his return from the first Global Forum On Youth Policies in Azerbaijan, has met with his lawyers in order to initiate legal action against Mr. Abdulai and the media house in question.
