The General Manager in charge of the Northern Business District of the country’s leading communication network MTN, Mr. James Bukari Basintale, has charged the media to capitalize on their recognition as the fourth estate of the realm to play a key role in linking technology to business, especially the Small an d Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs).
He indentified that, promoting vibrant linkage between the two components of business transaction, was a catalyst to enhance the growth of SMEs for the acceleration of the country’s economy.
He said, it was undisputed fact that, technology plays a pivotal role in placing business on the global market, hence the need for the media to give prominence to creating a strong link between the two.
Mr. Basintale, was speaking to this reporter after the opening ceremony of the second edition of business forum organized by the MTN in Kumasi.
The forum, which formed part of this year’s Ashanti Fest celebration under the auspices of the communication company, served as a platform to make available technological solutions to businesses, especially the actors in the micro finance .
“The media must focus on promoting the cause of harnessing the available technologies to enhance the development of businesses,” he said.
According to him, modern business cannot survive without utilizing technological ideas, because the two sectors are synergic to the sustainability global trade.
“ The potent of technology in driving modern business is unquantifiable hence the MTN as a leading communication entity decided to draw together renowned business organizations especially those in the financial sector to provide technological solution to the SMEs,” he added.
He was hopeful that after the forum, the participants were going to put into practice, the knowledge and skills they have acquired to improve on their businesses.
