The Peace and Love Hospital in Kumasi, one of the leading private health facilities in the Ashanti Region, has added Blood Bank to its existing departments to cater for the needs of patients, who visit the facility for health care.
Thirty-five members of the Advent Ghana Blood Donors, a Kumasi based Non Governmental Organization (NGO), donated blood to the Peace and Love Hospital last week.
The highly trained Biomedical team of the Hospital, who were on hand to take the blood of the donors said, about 62 came but 35 members of the group successfully passed medical checks that enabled them donate to the blood bank.
The President of the Advent Ghana Blood Donors, Emmanuel Osei Tawiah, said the organization is also motivated by the desire to save life.
He said, his organization which has over 500 members in the Greater Accra, Eastern and Ashanti Regions, is prepared to donate blood any time they are called upon to do so.
Members of the group were thrilled and happy to have contributed to the blood stock. They believed that their kind gesture is in line with Christian teachings to reach out to people who might be in need.
Peace and Love Hospital, a breast cancer treatment facility is a well equipped health facility with modern machines, including Dialysis machines among others.
The Management of Peace and Love Hospitals, commended the donors and appealed to other organized groups to emulate the worthy example of members of Advent Ghana Blood Donors.
