The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), has secured a court order to freeze all landed properties and vehicles of Menzgold Ghana Limited, as well as other associated companies, including a radio station; Zylofon FM and a television station; Zylofon TV owned by Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM 1).
The latest move is seen by many as a grand attempt to cover-up the US$51 million gold scam and the bribery of state officials, traditional rulers, government appointees, politicians, state security operatives, lawyers among others.
Indeed, the confiscation of the properties of NAM1, comes amid reports from government circles that EOCO, will soon see a major shakeup with senior officers to be sent home by President Akufo-Addo over the administration of the institution.
In particular, the president is said to be unimpressed with the performance of Mr K K Amoah, the EOCO boss.

The bribery and the refusal on the part of the Ghanaian authorities to arrest those involved, have led to the continuous detention of NAM 1 in Dubai.
The associated companies which are stated in the news release are seven in number, and they include; Menzgold Office Complex, Zylofon Art Complex, Brew Marketing Consult, Star Madrid Football Club, Zylofon Music and media company, Brew Energy Company Limited, G- Tech automobile service.

The press release also called on all employees of the affected companies, relatives and friends of the Menzgold CEO, who have in their possession any of the named properties to surrender all such assets to EOCO in their own interest.
According to EOCO, failure to submit all of such properties will constitute a contempt of court and will attract the “appropriate sanctions”.

According to the joint statement signed by the Ghana Police service and EOCO, Nam 1’s next court hearing is on February 2, 2019.
In the statement, signed by the Director General of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police service, ACP David Eklu, NAM 1 has been engaged by the Ghanaian delegation made up of security and legal offices sent to Dubai to follow up on his arrest warrant after news broke that he had been arrested in Dubai.

Although he’s said to have been arrested in Dubai in the first week of December 2018, news of his arrest became known in early part of January 2019, after the warrant had been issued for him.
