Opuni Loses Mother

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni, has lost his beloved mother, Mrs. Dora Yaa Owusuaa Opuni, she was 78.

She was the widow of the late, Nicholas Hayford Kwabena Opuni, the Brong Ahafo Regional Secretary of Kwame Nkrumah’s Convention People’s Party (CPP) in 1966.

The sad event occurred on Friday May 6, 2016 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, where she was receiving medical care.

On Friday May 20, 2016, her family, children, grandchildren, friends and sympathizers, will commemorate event in her hometown, Dormaa Babianeha, near Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Final funeral rites, will be announced later.

Madam Yaa Owusua, was survived by nine children, including Dr. Opuni.

Other children of Mrs. Opuni are; Christiana Akua Akrasi, Kwame Nkrumah Opuni-Frimpong, Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni, Daniel Kwadwo Opuni-Frimpong, Dr. Emmanuel Opuni-Frimpong, Forig. Thomas Opuni-Yeboah based in Virginia, United States of America (USA).

The rest are, George Opuni-Baafi, Virginia; Dr. Godwin Yaw Fosu Opuni, of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
