The Management of the National Service Scheme (NSS), says it has declared the month of August, 2016, as the annual leave month for all 2015/2016 national service personnel prior to the official end of the service.
In a statement signed and issued in Accra, the Acting Executive Director of the Scheme, Dr. Michael Kpessa-Whyte, says notwithstanding the official end of the 2015/2016 service year in August, the Management on the advice of the Board, is also offering an optional extension of six months to service personnel still at duty post, who wish to be redeployed for additional duties in the extension period.
According to the statement released yesterday, only current service personnel, who opt for the extension and apply online at www.nss.gov.gh, will be
considered for the redeployment.
The statement further notes that redeployment of personnel for the purposes of the extension, will be mainly to public sector user agencies, including educational institutions especially schools, the National Commission for Civic Education, Electoral Commission (EC), and various units and departments within the District Assemblies across the country.
Dr. Kpessa-Whyte, urged service personnel who are willing to gain additional work experience through service by working with different user agencies, to visit the Scheme’s website and apply before Friday, August 19, 2016.
