NHIA Interdicts 4 Officials, Institutes Further Investigations

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has with immediate effect, interdicted four of its officials in the Northern region, pending investigations into fraudulent claims paid to the Rabito Clinic (an NHIS accredited facility in the Bunkpurugu district) in the region.

The four are, James Tiyobaat Tiimub, Public Relations Officer (PRO), Paul Mimbiakeeb Laari, acting Claims Officer, Matthew Bumbom Laar, Accountant, all of the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo District Office and Daniel Pakingmong Sinika, Claims Officer for the West Mamprusi District Office.

The interdiction of the four officials follows the findings of a monitoring exercise conducted by the NHIA regarding claims payments to the Rabito Clinic by the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo District Office. The findings, among other things, revealed some irregularities in claims payment to the facility.

Further investigation into the matter has already commenced and their interdiction is to allow for an uninterrupted process.

The general public is, therefore advised not to conduct any NHIS related business with the named persons until further notice.
