Deputy National Women Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Mrs. Catherine Deynu, has passed on good wishes to the ten contestants of this year’s edition of TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) reality show.
Dr. Deynu, said the beauty show was “designed not only to entertain, celebrate the beauty and brains but also aims at redefining beauty to promote national unity” and therefore, participants must be commended for making it through by representing their respective regions.
In a statement issued and copied to The Herald, the deputy women organizer explained that, “programmes of such nature must be applauded and encouraged”, adding “It is therefore my joy to congratulate the queens on their success”.
She, however, expressed worry at the manner some of rich Ghanaian cultures, values and norms are appeared to be forgotten, but was hopeful that, the pageant will serve as a wakeup call to every Ghanaians.
Dr. Mrs. Deynu, said women are distinctively, blessed with various potentials which when tapped, can contribute immensely to socio-economic development of the nation.
The NDC stalwart, commended the management of TV3 for such a productive programme. She also extended her congratulations to all those who are involved in making sure this year’s edition materialized.
Dr. Mrs. Deynu, however, appealed to the contestants representing the ten regions, to remain humble, disciplined and focused in order to go through competition successfully.
She also urged other young ladies to avoid being nervous, but courageous enough to embrace such educative programmes like the GMB for a brighter future.
This year’s launch of the GMB which is Season IX, took place at the Ho Jubilee Park in the Volta region on August 2.
