Visionary Constituency Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ayawaso-West Wougon, Alhaji Ibrahim Jajah, has presented cartons of various modern learning materials to six public schools in his Constituency.
The laudable donation by the young politician, was aimed at helping the students get extra learning materials to improve and make easy their studies so that they can get to the standard of private schools and compete with them academically.
The donation ceremony was held at the Dzorwulu Junior High School (JHS) last Friday, March 20, in the presence of representatives of other beneficiary schools.
The schools included, Dzorwulu JHS, Jack and Jill Primary, Abelenkpe No.2 JHS & Primary, Bawaleshe JHS & Primary, Olivet JHS & Primary, as well as University of Ghana Psychology Department.
Speaking after the presentation, Alhaji Ibrahim, said as a Constituency Chairman your focus should not only be your party and members, but also everybody, particularly the young ones, students who are our future leaders.
He told The Herald “I am not a Constituency chairman for only NDC, as a chairman, you don’t look at only your party, you have to serve everybody so that at the end of the day, people will see that you have performed”.
Alhaji Ibrahim noted, “As you can see, the donation I’ve done here, it’s not only children of NDC people who are schooling here” but rather a mixed up.
According to him, if people who are in leadership, will emulate what he has done in their small way, society will not be depending on government always.
The NDC Chairman said, “this is a good example for all leaders to come and do the same thing. If all of us are helping and we are not depending on government, it will help us to move forward the public schools”.
He also promised to assist the Dzorwulu JHS to complete their library project which is currently under construction for lack of fund and also refurbish the ICT laboratory of the school.
The headmistress of Dzorwulu JHS, Madam Stella Tsekpo, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiary schools, commended the Constituency Chairman for his gesture.
