It seems the attacks on her by supporters of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has fired up singer, Mzbel, and she is going all out for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, President John Mahama.
The artist, looks all set to ensure her preferred candidate; the president, wins the upcoming December 7 presidential polls.
Known in private life as Belinda Nana Akua Amoah, Mzbel, few weeks ago, endorsed the candidature of President Mahama, but her choice attracted unprintable insults from followers of the opposition party; the NPP.
Barely a week after that, she has released two songs, endorsing Mr. Mahama’s second term bid.
The first song is titled “JM Toaso”, to wit, JM continue. “JM Toaso”, is one of the phrases, being used by many lovers of President Mahama, including floating voters to urge the president to continue his many developmental projects across the country.
She used other NDC campaign phrases like ” e dey bee”, changing lives”, “Transforming Ghana” among others, in the song which also talks about how peaceful the NDC is. She featured other underground artists.
The “Awusomi” hit maker, also has a second campaign song titled, “Mahama Changing Lives”. The song is a sample of the popular Gospel track “Awawado” and it spreads the news of the president’s achievements under four years. It also talks about how the various projects are transforming the country and the lives of the average Ghanaian.
Both songs are being shared especially on social media platforms like facebook and whatsapp. Her songs come on the heels of other song from boxers, Bukom Banku, Ayitey Powers and other unknown artists.
A check on the songstress’ facebook page yesterday, revealed that the artist is not only campaigning with new songs, but she has hit the ground running.
She shared pictures of herself wearing NDC campaign apparel sitting at a bus stop glancing through the government’s “green book”. The artiste work
has two big pictures of the president side by side of Mzbel.
The sharp pictures which have gone viral, have Mzbel wearing a pair of white jeans with a polo shirt, and the NDC’s umbrella symbol boldly written in the shirt.
The shirt also has a portrait picture of the president. Mzbel has indicated somewhere that she started taking the president serious after she read from the “greenbook”. She has also indicated that she is not bothered about the attacks and the insults from the NPP.
Last Sunday, July 31, 2016, Mzbel was at the forecourt of the States House, attending the final funeral rites (Adua) of the president’s mother, Hajia Abiba Nnaba.
She wore the excite cloth the president and his wife wore. She took pictures with veteran actress, Doris Sacketey, Kasoume Sinare, who has predicted a one touch victory for the president.
Mzbel is on record to have written and performed a song for the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) which she has said was appreciated by the power company.
