A former dance champion, rapper and popular Disc Jockey (DJ), Victor Kpakpo Addo Jnr, has said, his late father, Victor Addo Snr., never told him “I love you” even though he could pass as pampered child (Dada Ba), growing up in one of Accra’s well to do communities, Dzorwulu.
But thanks to modernity, the rapper turned pastor says, he now has the opportunity to give that deep affection he didn’t get from his father to his children and also, direct them on how or what career path to take.
“During my time we didn’t get it like this. During our time, as I told you, my dad could jump and slap me. There was no way you could dialogue. At least now, I can tell my son I love you. My father never said I love you before he died.
According to the “Me Do Wo Abena” hit maker, choosing a career as a young boy growing up was not easy as his parents, especially his mother, (Akweley), a teacher and an elder in church objected to his choice of career many times saying her son could not end up as a “public toy”, but thanks to God, because of the sheer
determination and the commitment he showed, he triumph over the stiff opposition.
Azigiza Jnr, as he is popularly known said this when he was unveiled as Ambassador for Sasso, the brand name for Samara Group of Companies’ Insecticide Spray, Mosquito Coil etc. He believes it is as a result of his career choice which has taken him to places and offered him the rare opportunities to meet people that have landed him in such a contract to work for Sasso.
