Huru international Band last week had a splendid performance during a program theme after Kwahu Easter Festival Live band cultural display.
The group since inception has thrilled diverse audiences in the country and beyond with its own variations of traditional African music.
Speaking to the band leader Katakyie Kofi Afrifa he said that they had opportunity to perform at the maiden edition of After Kwahu Easter cultural display organized by Attractive Media /Promotions because of the spectacular performance they put up during the Kwahu Easter festival.
In a separate chat with the lead vocalist Patience Takyiwaa, about what Ghanaians should expect she said that they have plans to tour the shores of Ghana and the northern region this year.
Huru International Band’s mission is to promote and sustain African live band music by presenting dance and music that illuminates the richness and diversity of African traditional values.
The group derives its dance techniques and methodology from movement’s characteristics, aesthetic qualities and the philosophy of African dance traditions, as well as the enormous movements and rhythmic resources available in various communities throughout Ghana.
Over the past years the live band group has gained wide range of recognition throughout Ghana, the west African sub-Region and the world, largely due to its spectacular performances to highly enthusiastic audiences. It has also held workshops and seminars on African music.
