…With Seven Community Improvement Initiatives
Mobile Telecommunications giant, MTN, together with customers in the Brong Ahafo region, have begun celebrating the second edition of Suncityfest (Sunyani City Festival). The month-long activity is from September 3-30, 2013.
The celebration forms part of MTN’s nationwide annual and regional customer engagement initiatives.
A series of events covering the commissioning and initiation of Corporate Social Investment projects as well as business, sports and entertainment activities are being carried out in the region throughout the month.
Activities lined up for Suncity fest 2013 include:
• Donation of Incubator to Goaso Govt. Hospital
• Donation of Ventilator to Sunyani Municipal Hospital
• Sod Cutting for Dinkra Community–based Health Planning Service (CHPS) project
• Commissioning of Saunders School at Kintampo
• Traditional Food Joints Activations
• MTN Walkathon / Medical Screening
• Inter Community football gala in Sunyani and Techiman
MTN will also sponsor a durbar of chiefs during the month. A film show and a musical concert will be held to crown the celebrations.
Commenting on the festival, James Bukari Basintale, Northern Sector General Manager of MTN, said, “Events such as Suncity give us the opportunity to interact with our customers and most importantly get us to impact our communities positively through the implementation of numerous community projects.” We hope to have an exciting time in the region”.
Suncity Fest is one of several regional festivals designed by MTN across the country to acknowledge and promote the rich culture of the communities in which the company operates. Other regional festivals include, Koftownfest (Eastern Region) Ashantifest (Ashanti Region), Oil City fest (Western Region) and Savannafest (for the three Northern Regions).
