Leading telecom operator, MTN Ghana, has officially launched the much anticipated 4G LTE spectrum, to give faster data service to its subscribers.
The launch at its head office at Ridge last Tuesday, follows the company’s successful acquisition of the 4G800MHz FDD spectrum license last December.
MTN, bought the right at US$67.5Million, finished paying in January promising to launch it in six month time, the same year it is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The new service, has huge advantage over 3G and works 5 to 10 times faster than 3G which means; faster internet downloads and uploads speeds. With 4G, the date experience of MTN subscribers is going to be improved significantly.
The experience 4G offers a multiple time better than 3G, illustrating that where 3G is running 2, 000kmps, 4G, will go 100, 000kmps

He explained “The 4G price point from a data perceptive is the same as 3G price point but the only bit here is that, you would be consuming your data on a faster speedas the 4G technology has always promised but our data price remains the same.
The price of bundle of *138# hasn’t changed and is going to remain the same for a very long time in that regard.
According to Mr. Ganson, “There is an opportunity that once you switch on to 4G, you going to get 100 percent bonus anytime you purchase a data”.
The technology will afford the opportunity to subscribers, incredible internet speed and capabilities that will change the way customers communicate, socialize, entertain, do business, and participate in all activities that have to do with the internet.
