Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN), one of the leading operators of mobile telecommunications in collaboration with the Bank of Ghana (BoG) and Ghana Education Service (GES), has launched a mobile money platform that would offer parents the opportunity to pay their children school fees through mobile platform.
As per the launch, parents with children in the following schools: Edinam Senior High School (SHS),Ghana Secondary Technical School, Holy Child, Archbishop Porters Girls, Aggrey Memorial SHS, Junkwa SHS, Potsin I.T Ahmadiya Secondary School, Effutu Technical School, Don Bosco Technical
Institute, Ghana National Academy(Kumasi), Central University College (CUC), Great Gadeco SHS, Carter Consult Limited, Mfantsiman School, St. Augustine’s College, Ghana National College, Olistar SHS, Univ Practice SS, University of Ghana(UG) and Prempeh College, can now pay their wards fees on the platform
The rest are; Kumasi Girls High School, St. Magaret Mary, Oyorko Methodist SHS, and UG Alumini, Islamic SHS, St. Jerome SHS, Ghana National Secondary School, Presby Boys SHS and Accra Academy are also active on the MTN mobile money fees payment platform.
The platform is partnering nine COMMERCIAL banks, ADB, EB Accion, Stanbic, Fidelity, Ecobank, UBA, Cal bank, Access and Universal Merchant Bank (UMB).
Speaking at the launch attended by Head Teachers of the various schools, Mr Eric Nsarkoh, the Sales and Distribution Executive of MTN said, all one need to access the platform was to go to mobile money and select pay bill; select school and select fees.
