Whoever thought that the Minority Leader of Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, has been left off the hook in view of the fact that he was successfully voted for as the parliamentary candidate for Suame Constituency in the upcoming 2016 general elections on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party NPP, must have a rethink.
This paper, can confidently place on record that more candidates on the ticket of other political parties, are likely to spring up to resuscitate the agony of the seemingly healed wounds of the member of parliament, as they are more determined to frustrate his chances of being maintained as the member of Parliament for Suame Constituency.
Aside Hayford Osei Bempah, the independent candidate, who came close in unseating him in the 2012 parlaimentary elections, and has recently disclosed his intention to again contest the Minority Leader in the coming 2016 general elections, a female parliamentary candidate on the ticket of United Progressive Party (UPP), Madam Gifty Owusu, a proud political daughter of the popular businessman-turned politician, “ODIKE”, has also joined the political wagon of the opposition forces to oust the minority leader.
Madam Owusu, affectionately called, “ maame Zenabu” in an exclusive interview with this reporter, bemoaned the performance of the Minority Leader, branding it as below average, since he has failed to better position the Constituency on the map of development, despite his much trumpeted performance in parliament.
The much talked about candidate, madam Gifty Owusu, has challenged residents to as a matter of necessity give her a try by voting for her as the Member of Parliament in the upcoming general election.
Suame Constituency, which she indicated has for long stood deficient of several developmental projects, disclosed would be better off under her tenure.
She added that, UPP was much poised to position the Constituency and for that matter Ghana for a better tomorrow, and has, therefore, called on all to rally behind her for power.
