Minority Leader Indicted Akufo-Addo

Ohene-Ntown Charges As Amin Anta’s Secret Tape Emerges

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), may not know peace in the foreseeable future, no matter who emerges as the flagbearer, after the national delegate congress slated for October 18, as various explosive secret tape recordings, involving party bigwigs making scatting remarks about Nana Akufo-Addo behind closed doors, but profess love for him in the open.

Indeed, a former General Secretary of the party, Nana Ohene Ntow, is threatening to release some damaging secret audio recordings, involving some top party executives, who have admitted at meetings that the party’s twice-defeated flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, who is campaigning for a third time bid, cannot win the 2016 general elections.

Ohene Ntow, who is also the spokesperson for Nana Addo’s closest contender, Alan Kyeremanten hinted that, he has tape recordings of some national executives and other leading NPP members, who have publicly declared their support for Nana Addo.

The vociferous former NPP chief scribe, served notice that he was not making just mere allegations, but is backed by hardcore facts and evidence.

Meanwhile, The Herald is in possession of another secret recording of Mohammed Amin Anta, passing very damning comments on Nana Addo. Insiders believed that he made the derogatory comments ahead of his recent endorsement of their two-time presidential candidate.

On the tape, Mohammed Amin Anta, who was once Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) is heard saying, it will be difficult for Nana Addo to win the 2016 Presidential Election, adding Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, could win the election for the NPP.

Mohammed Amin Anta, a former Deputy Northern Regional Minister in the John Kufuor regime, who now runs an Oil and Gas NGO called, African Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), swore to a man he was conversing with on phone that he is receiving some US$5,000 from Nana Addo.

He boasted that Nana Addo, had summoned him to a place and offered the money and three positions in his government to choose from, should he win the Election Petition at the Supreme Court. He bragged that despite protest from him, Nana Addo insisted he took the money.

Ohene Ntow stated on Citi FM that, “I do have it, it does exist but it wasn’t something that I was keen on putting out. I just don’t talk, I have a lot of reputation and I have my good name to protect”.

According to him, “it is not just a game in which I want to embarrass anybody, but I think there is something strange happening in NPP…”

Mr. Ohene Ntow, however, refused to mentioned names saying, “I’m not going to mention names unless I’m ready to put out the tape. I will put it out, but I will not pre-empt it.”

For now, the Minority Leader in parliament and Member of Parliament (MP) for Suame, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, has been caught on an explosive secret tape recording which had gone viral, complaining bitterly over an alleged $90,000 dollars blown every weekend in Kumasi on food and hotels by Nana Akufo-Addo and his campaign.

The secret tape, which is currently circulating within the NPP circles, has been identified and believed to be the voice of the NPP minority leader.

The tough-talking legislator, was clearly heard on the tape, describing the twice-defeated presidential hopeful and his coterie as having misplaced priorities and spending huge sums of monies on luxury activities, when such funds could be channelled to win seats in parliament.

He alleged that, Akufo-Addo, sleeps in a private residence anytime he visits Kumasi, whiles his followers who are members of the campaign team go and sleep at the Golden Tulip Hotel at the cost of whopping US$90,000 dollars, just on a campaign tour in the region.

The voice on the secret tape alleged that, Akufo-Addo apart from some people who cook for him, the rest follow him because of other interests when it comes to Ashanti region.

“His coterie of followers who go to sleep at the Golden Tulip Hotel, you know how much they were spending? The cost to be paid by the campaign team was US$90,000 dollars”, the Minority Leader purportedly noted.

The MP for Suame, who is arguably one of Ghana’s long-standing legislatures, said “if we had given such an amount to some two constituencies, they would have won for us”

He warned that “Such a leader, we will not allow you do that because in my view, now we don’t have money for campaign”, describing the third time presidential hopeful as someone who has displayed open opulence and a waste of money.

According to him, some people went to import bicycles, motor bicycles and vuvuzelas. Wondering “what are we using vuvuzelas for? Do you know how much vuvuzelas cost? Some people take advantage to import vuvuzelas. Vuvuzelas alone cost US$1.5million dollars”, he lamented.

He also went on further and touched on the poor logistic planning in the last elections which he disclosed, led to the party loosing the 2012 election.

It would be recalled that, the National Chairman, Paul Afoko in a press conference that was invaded by some heavily built and hired tugs, made some revelations to some secret dollar accounts being operated in the name of the party.

However, this latest revelation by the minority leader, who doubles as a member of the steering committee, is generating lots of uproar within the party, as many begin to wonder the real reason behind Nana Addo’s come back.
