Residents of Madina Number three Park in the La Nwantanang Municipal Assembly (LaMA) in the Greater Accra region last Friday April, 24, defied the odds to contribute their quota to national development through a communal spirit, never witnessed in the area by reconstructing a broken bridge.
The Residents, through their personal contributions constructed the broken bridge which is about two hundred metres away from the office of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Frank in Anku.
The broken bridge, which was also near the Madina branch of Melcom Shopping Mall, was left unattended to, in spite of numerous distress calls to the Assembly to have the broken bridge repaired for smooth operation of business in the area.
Speaking to The Herald in an interview after the reconstruction of the bridge, Mr Prosper Nyaho, otherwise known as Yaro, took the opportunity to thank the following individuals: the Nhayo family, Carpenter Gameli Akakpo, Auntie Adwoa, Wofa, Proprietress of Royal Child School, who contributed two bags of cement and provided water for the project.
The rest are Kwame Atta and former Assembly man for the area, Alhaji Aziz Yakubu, known as Dan, also contributed three bags of cement and gravel for the reconstruction of the bridge.
