Abodakpi Charges New NDC Executives
A National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairmanship aspirant, Daniel Abodakpi, has congratulated the various regional executives, who have been elected to man the party in their respective regions, for the next four years.
The onetime Ghana’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, in a statement dated Tuesday 18, November 2014, was extremely impressed at the high sense of maturity exhibited at the regional congresses and the peaceful atmosphere they were carried out
He was optimistic that moving forward; all will come onboard to help the party go into the 2016 general elections, well prepared with the right caliber of the national executives to chalk another feat, adding, “May your victory spur you all to support the progress of the party and to work towards the party’s electoral victory in 2016”.
The National Executives of the NDC, has set December 12 to 13, 2014, for the National Congress for the election of the national executives of the party.
An announcement made yesterday said, National Youth Conference is slated for December 5 to 6 in Kumasi, the National Women Conference, has also been fixed for December 5 to 6, but in Wa in the Upper West Region.
Nominations, have been opened for all those interested in various positions to pick the respective forms.
The former Member of Parliament (MP) for Keta, who was spotted in the Volta Region to witness that region’s election, commended both winners and losers, hoping that the unity that was exhibited at the election grounds, would continue to enable them build the party together.
Over the weekend, the governing party organized various regional elections to elect party officers, especially regional chairmen for a four-year term.
Mr. Abodakpi said, he was convinced he would come out victorious, expressing in the statement, his readiness to work with all those elected when that time comes.
He called on the defeated candidates to embrace party unity and togetherness for the benefit of the country.
The former Trade and Industry Minister, urged the newly elected officers to bring onboard all aspirants, and added that those who lost should accept these invitations to work together.
“I pray for unity between the winner and losers. The winners must invite the losers onboard and the losers must accept the invitation to work together for the benefit of our great party. We need everybody onboard, and that is the only way the party will be the true winner.
“To those who retained their positions, I urge you to consider it as confidence reposed in your ability, and the need for you to do more. To those elected for the first time, you must consider it as a huge responsibility to contribute to the revamping of the party structures in your respective regions”, the statement said.
“As an aspiring National Chairman who is optimistic of securing the chairmanship position, I am fully prepared to work with you all to save the party from retrogressing, and failing the masses who continue to toil for the sustenance of the party”, the statement concluded.
