Leadership Award For First Lady Lordina Mahama

The First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, was decorated with a Global Inspiration Leadership Award and inducted into the Global Women Leaders Hall of Fame. The award is in recognition of her hard work and dedication to serving humanity, especially the less privileged.

The awards ceremony, took place last Friday as part of the 2nd Africa-Middle East-Asia Women Summit in Dubai, UAE.
The Summit is designed to equip women leaders in underdeveloped and developing nations to be drivers of change in their fields of endeavour, and also take up leadership positions in government, business and community development.

The 2014 summit in Dubai provided a platform for participants to share experiences and best practices and also create relationships that would forge mutual benefits of growth and development. Organized by the Centre for Economic and Leadership Development, CELD, in collaboration with the CEO Clubs Network Worldwide, women leaders who have distinguished themselves in their various fields were honoured with the 2014 Africa-Middle East-Asia Amazon Awards. The awardees also included some women CEOs.

Mrs. Mahama, was grateful for the recognition, noting that she sees the award as “a challenged to put in more effort in bringing hope to less privileged women and children in Ghana.”

Three other Ghanaian women- Nilla Selormey of the Universal Merchant Bank Ghana, Mrs. Patience Akyianu of Barclays Bank and Shika Acolatse, Country Director of Enablis Ghana- were also awarded and inducted into the hall of fame.
