The Accra High Court ruling on Sammy Crabbe versus the New Patriotic Party (NPP) case, is set to pronounce judgment this week, but before this ruling, claims are that the twice defeated Flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, and his friends, are setting the stage to manage embarrassment awaiting them on June 2, 2016.
The plan is to bring back suspended General Secretary, Kwabena Adjei Agyepong, who has remained silent, since his return from London after 4-months away.
His case with the Joy FM at the National Media Commission (MNC), over what he termed unprofessional reportage on events before and after the suspension, has also died a natural death.
Nana Akufo-Addo, is said to have ordered the Acting Chairman, to convene an emergency NEC meeting, even before judgment is pronounced on June 2, 2016.
The NEC meeting according to insider, is to call suspended General Secretary back to his post for good behavior, in accordance to the satisfaction of Akufo-Addo.
The insiders, further disclosed that, Nana Akufo-Addo, has observed that, the “weakest link” among the three suspended National Executive Members is Kwabena Agyepong, owing to his declining to contest the illegality in a Court of competent jurisdiction.
Mr. Agyepong, is said to have presidential ambition, his silence is seen by many as a calculated attempt to remain in the good books of the Akufo-Addo loyalists.
The Herald’s information is that, he Mr. Agyepong, has in recent times been in constant interaction with Nana Addo’s cousin and confidante, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko.
Sources close to Mr. Agyepong, tell The Herald that, apart from Mrs. Lawrencia Agyepong; wife of the Civil Engineer turned Politician, who passionately dislikes Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, and doesn’t was to see him, the suspended General Secretary and Nana Addo’s cousin, have lately
been on very friendly terms.
If the reports of bringing back Mr. Agyepong are anything to go by, it will be one of the historic political betrayals in recent times with principles thrown to the dogs.
Last year, Nana Akufo-Addo, through the party’s Disciplinary Committee, sacked the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko, Second Vice Chairman and the General Secretary.
Both the National Chairman and Second Vice Chairman; Sammy Crabbe, are contesting this illegality at the Accra High Court.
Whilst, the court will pronounce ruling in the case of Second Vice Chairman on June 2nd, the National Chairman, will resume cross examination on June 1, 2016 at the Accra High Court.
