Warns Him To Reject Obetsebi-Lamptey, Sir John, Otiko & Others Or Else

The self acclaimed financier of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong, has threatened to organize party delegates to vote against Nana Akufo-Addo, if the 2012 Presidential Candidate dare support the current National Executives, led by Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.

Mr. Agyapong, who claims to have financed many of Nana Addo’s campaigns, wants Nana Addo to distance himself from the current leadership of the party, whiles he crusades against their exit.

He specifically accused his party’s National Chairman of embezzling a GH¢100,000, he personally donated to the party.

He insisted that should Nana Addo defy his instruction, he would make sure, the twice defeated NPP flagbearer, who is already facing stiff opposition from, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng and Boakye Agyarko for the 2016 flagbearership, is voted against.

The loud-mouth politician, who serves the people of Assin Central in the Central Region as their Member of Parliament (MP), has been on a collision course, calling on party supporters to vote against the current party leaders, as they have failed the party.

Mr. Agyapong, who was speaking on Neat FM, last Friday on the internal struggle within the NPP said, he would not be comfortable seeing that the current leadership, whose efforts led to the NPP’s defeat in two successive elections maintained to steer the affairs of the party in the next four years.

According to Mr. Agyapong, from all indications, the leadership, led by Chairman, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, Women’s Organizer, Otiko Afisah Djaba and others, holding National Executive positions need to be removed, because they have squandered funds and resources meant for the party’s activities.

Ken Agyapong, accused the current Executives at the Constituency, Regional and National levels of hoarding motorbikes, he personally donated to the party’s campaign, which he is yet to pay for and are now being distributed to people by way of bribe.

The legislator, had earlier in the interview refrained from mentioning names of NPP bigwigs, who were involved in the daylight bribery, promising to release the names in February, a month to the National Executive elections.

He, however, could not hold back immediately the host of the programme read out a comment posted on social media platform, Facebook by one Brian Acheampong, on how his (Mr. Agyapong) ethnocentric attack on Gas and Voltarians diminished the party’s fortunes in 2012.

The post, which Mr Acheampong shared from a fellow NPP member, accused the MP of behaving like a “tin god” in the NPP. It continued that, “Ken destroyed our gains in the Volta Region and decreased our votes in the Ga communities, which in turn cost us the 2012 elections”.

“’It’s high time Ken Agyapong understands that he has built a Constituency in the party for himself, with his hawkish style of politics and must choose between being an asset or a liability for our dear party, because you can’t give out hundreds with your right hand and take back thousands with your left,” the post read.

Mr. Agyapong at this stage got infuriated, verbally attacked Mr. Acheampong, and in his characteristic function, threatened to beat up his National Chairman’s Special Assistant.

Mr. Acheampong, who is said to be the ‘Chief of Staff’ to Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey, and a failed parliamentary aspirant for the Suhum Constituency, was accused of embezzling a cheque of GH¢100,000 together with his boss, Jake.

The obviously angry MP tasked Mr. Acheampong and his boss to account for the GH¢100,000 cheque he personally handed over to them, before attempting to fire salvos.

“…He is a stupid boy. He is a thief…If Bryan Acheampong is the one who put that thing there, then ask him where the GH¢100, 000 contribution that was supposed to pay for the filling fees of the MPs go? He and his master received the money…I’ll give him a show down”.

“…Bryan Acheampong is a first class thief. He squandered that money with Jake,” the NPP Law Maker fumed. However, Mr. Acheamong, who later called into the programme regretted the MP’s action and wondered why he will always want to go to that extent to thwart the fortunes of the party.

He refuted allegations of Mr. Agyapong that he had used party funds to build a plush hotel in Kwahu adding, because of his dedication to the party, his business has come to a standstill, as he is unable to make time and resources for it completion.

Mr. Acheampong, expressed surprise as to why Executives, who have dedicated themselves to the party and are not paid would have their names drag into the mud.

Meanwhile, whilst Mr. Agyapong is going on attacking spree, information reaching The Herald indicates that the MP is yet to make public how cunningly, cousin of Akufo-Addo, who has chosen to go on self-imposed exile in the United Kingdom (UK) spent dollars, he Mr. Agyapong allocated to Nana Addo for the 2012 campaign.

The former Executive Director of a pro-NPP think tank, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, is alleged to have squandered the said Dollars with his other Akyem mafia brother, Nana Fredua Offori- Atta Agyeman.

The money was said to have been requested by Akufo- Addo for his campaign, which Mr. Agyapong willingly gave out to the flagbearer, but he is said to have used part and gave the rest to Gabby to be sent back to the NPP legislator.

Gabby and Nana Fredua, allegedly pocketed the rest of the money. The businessman cum politician, has decried how he had to in the last elections, lower himself to people to ask for funds to support Nana Addo’s campaign.
