The Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, Naoto Nikai, has on behalf of his government congratulated, President John Dramani Mahama on the validation of his election by the Supreme Court.

On behalf of my government, I would like to express once again our warm congratulation to your Excellency as the Supreme Court of Ghana has confirmed the result of the Presidential election last December.
I am instructed to convey to you that the Japanese government would like to work with you to further strengthen the friendship and relations between Japan and Ghana.
My country would like to pay a high respect to the fact that Ghana has maintained peace throughout and after the proceeding of the Supreme Court, which demonstrates again that Ghana is a leading country in terms of democracy in Africa.
