Jake Must Be Shown The Exit For Afoko To Rescue The Party

In the course of life, there are certain things you don’t want to remember. Really, truly, certain eras are best forgotten.

Some names and people you don’t want to remember. So I think it is the height of insensitivity for Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey, the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to inflict himself on our consciousness and on our memory again, as he indicated his intention to contest for his position again.

I am sorry to do this, but do people remember, B.J Da Rocha, Odoi Sykes, Haruna Esseku and Mark Manu? Yes I do, because these were men who steered the affairs of the party with integrity. It is the position they held that Jake had decided to run down.

Do you remember, Dan Kweku Botwe? Yes I do, because he was the best General Secretary the NPP has ever had.
From that phantom rose Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey, to lead one of the biggest political parties in the country, but he has failed abysmally in discharging his duties with integrity and fairness.

The NPP during his tenure as the Chairman is more divided, than the once formidable party that he came to inherit. Is this a Chairman who should seek for re-election?

In short, I think Jake Obetsebi Lamptey lacks both moral and constitutional authority to lead the NPP again.

I woke up last Wednesday, to one of the best news I have been waiting for since January 2013, and that Paul Afoko has indicated that he was going to contest for the Chairmanship position of the NPP. Finally, the Chickens are coming home to roost.

I cannot describe my joy, I could only thank God for answering my prayers and that of other millions of Ghanaians, who have had enough of the insincerity and the incompetence of Jake Obetsebi Lamptey.

How Ghanaians came to be infested with Jake, is one thing I cannot fathom, but hey everything that has a beginning certainly has an end.

I think the Delegates of the NPP did a disservice to this country, when they elected him from among other credible candidates. There is always a second chance for correction and the time is near when Jake need to be shown the exit and allow Paul Afoko to rescue the party, which is becoming unpopular by the day.

It is only Jake who runs away from responsibility; a leader worth his salt accepts responsibility for the failure of his team. As a leader when something goes wrong, you don’t pass the blame to others, that is what Jake is doing, blaming the Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr.
Kwawdo Afari Gyan for his inability to deliver victory to the NPP, this is so convenient.

We are witnessing the beginning of the end of the political career of a politician, who has been nothing but a disaster.

Thankfully enough, from the ashes of the ashes of Jake rises a man full of furnace, a true patriot, a democrat, a fighter, an honest man, in the person of Paul Afoko, who will follow the footsteps of his predecessors.

We are seeing the end of an era, an era that has held Ghanaians to ransom. This was an era that was characterized with stupidity, fool headedness, arrogance, and all the evil words of these kinds.

As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,’ is a phrase from a doxology of Christian tradition, expressing appreciation to God and acknowledging the immutability of the Blessed Trinity through all the ages. This readily comes to mind when I think about the intention expressed by Paul Afoko to contest for the Chairmanship post of the NPP. In the beginning was B.J Da Rocha, Odoi Sykes, Haruna Esseku, and Mac Manu, is now and ever shall be with Paul Afoko.

Evil cannot triumph forever. Truth will pull down all the evil that has bedeviled this country, since Jake Obetsebi Lamptey and Sir John became the two leading figures of the NPP.

They talk like kids, behave like kids, and leave many wondering whether they were no men in the NPP.
Arise the voice of conscience and the voice of reason, the country needs you, and your party needs.

I have also heard in the grapevine about the fact that Kwabena Adjapong, has also expressed his interest to wrestle Kwawdo Owusu Afriyie for the position of the General Secretary.

I know many people will agree with me that it is news that was long in coming. Sir John has done nothing good, but has always dragged the name of the party in disrepute.

He never opens his mouth, unless he wants to insult somebody, he never opens his mouth, unless he wants to confuse people, he never opens his mouth, unless he wants to make a fool of himself, he never opens his mouth, unless he wants to disgrace the legal profession, he belongs to.

NPP need a new lease of life, an oxygen as the party is in a coma, and there are no better people to do that than Paul Afoko and Kwabena Adjapong, for Chairman and General Secretary respectively.

Unfortunately, I am not a Delegate, if I were I will not think twice as to who deserves my vote. Paul Afoko, will do a better job than Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey. I hope the discerning voices in the party are listening and reading
