Is The ‘Misinformation’ Minister Now A Pollster?

The ‘Misinformation’ Minister, who is a Muslim, knows very well that, Allah is the only one, who can tell tomorrow.

Mustapha Hamid, because of a pot of porridge is advancing the theory of hypocrisy, beyond human comprehension.

In the final analysis, the Muslim scholar, who was until his appointment to perfect the lies of the New Patriotic Party government, a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Department of Religion and Human Values, teaching Islamic Studies, is progressively being unveiled before us.

It is becoming clear by the day that, the square peg, in a round hole minister, has no job to do, so instead of going back to the appointing authourity to tell him, what his job description is, he has now turned himself into a pollster.

He constitutes himself into a nuisance, whose stock in trade these days is to lie. Last week, in sharp contrast to what the minister of Education, Dr. Mathew OPoku Prempeh said, Mustapha Hamid, claimed ex-President John Dramani Mahama, only completed 11 of his promised 200 Community Day Senior High Schools.

In March last year, Dr. Opoku Prempeh, told the country that, president Mahama, was only able to complete 47 of the

The minister, who could not tell Ghanaians, when the government’s much touted One District One Factory, would commenced and whether or not all the districts in the country, will have a factory by 2020, went ahead to state that, president Akufo-Addo, will complete the remainder of all the 200 Community Day Senior High Schools started by the erstwhile John Mahama administration.

The Minister, suffered a memory loss, when he said on Accra based Asempa FM , on April 4 that “President Akufo-Addo was virtually saying that for this country to improve, it is a country that we can get one district one factory, and that when he gets the power he will put in place measures to make sure that dream is fulfilled. So he may not in the four years or eight years be able to establish a factory for every district, but whatever it is, even if he is able to do 100 or 200, any successive president can continue with the projects, then [it will mean that] we are moving towards President Akufo-Addo’s Ghana beyond aid agenda.”

In the run-up to the 2016 elections, candidate Akufo-Addo, did not address Ghanaians in Greek, neither did he speak Latin, he spoke both Twi and English, which are languages widely spoken in Ghana, with English being the official language of the country.

Since 2008, when Akufo-Addo first run for the presidency, the drum beat of Ghana rising, has been heard at all the four corners of the country.

We were promised heaven on earth, the NPP hoodwinked Ghanaians, with their sweet, yet unrealistic promises.

After more than 30 years on this earth, nothing about the Ghanaian surprises me, no sane society, will have fallen for the pranks of the NPP. A factory in each district, a dam in each village in the three northern regions of the country, a warehouse in each district, as well as other mouth watering promises and like magic, Ghanaians believed the promises can be fulfilled.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will easily win a second term in office if the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) elects ex-president John Mahama as flagbearer, Information Minister Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid has said.

According to him, Mr Mahama can only run on his abysmal record, which, in Dr Abdul-Hamid’s estimation, Akufo-Addo’s achievements, by the end of his first term, will outshine, thus, rendering the 2020 polls a doddle for the New Patriotic Party.

“In my view, president Mahama will make our work absolutely easier without a doubt, if the NDC fields him as flagbearer for the 2020 elections because a new candidate would come with new promises and you can’t prove that he can’t do it because he has no track record based on which you can make a judgement, but we can always make reference to Mr Mahama’s track record while he was in office.

“We can simply ask what he achieved in office the last time for which reason he is making a comeback.

“That will be a very simple, straightforward question.

“So, as far as I’m concerned, the record with which president Mahama went into the 2016 elections is the same record on which he will run for 2020 and there’ll be no basis for comparison with our record at the end of our first term,” President Akufo-Addo’s spokesperson told Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen political talk show on Monday, 9 April.

This is the Minister of Information, who was supposed to have a lot of work on his plate. Since January 7, when Nana Akufo-Addo, took the oath of office, he has inaugurated projects started and finished by former president, John Dramani Mahama.

Development, we are told is never in abeyance, even the worst form of government, we have had in this country, contributed their quota to the socio-economic development of this country.

At the end of 2020, they will certainly be a comparison of the two records and we shall see which one will have a deficit.

Before the 2016 elections many people believe that the emergence of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will find a lasting solution to Ghana’s woes. But, as it is, people who are not parochial in analyzing issues could easily conclude that the present administration of President Akufo-Addo, is not showing any positive sign in tackling the nation’s challenges.

Instead of focusing on delivering on the numerous promises, the Minister of Information has rather constitute himself into a nuisance, fighting the former president.

It is approaching one and a half years Nana Addo, was sworn in as president to lead the country for four years, and things seem to be worse than they were during the administration of John Mahama, and yet the Information minister, wants us to think otherwise.

From the onset of this administration, they have blamed John Mahama for the poor economic state of the country.

Sixteen months later, they continue to hold Mahama responsible for the mess Ghana is in.

Someone needs to tell Mustapaha Hamid and his ilk to stop the blame game and swing into action.
