People like Kwame Asare Obeng otherwise known as A-Plus, the controversial and hugely compromised musician, believe that, they are smarter than the rest of us.
How he and people who think and behave like him came about that ingrained entitlement mentality beats me.
Considering that they have taken more than the fair share of the national cake, this mentality should be the other way round, because the country has given them more than they deserve.
In the run up to the 2008 election, when Nana Akufo-Addo, decided to be a celebrity candidate, A-Plus, was the linkman between him and his colleagues, who were in the showbiz business.
The A-Plus case is more confounding! Here is a fellow who started insulting Ex-president John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and members of the New Patriotic Party loved him.
Today, he has turned his gun on the NPP and members of the NDC think he is making sense. What kind of monster are we growing, who thinks he is more sensible and smarter than the rest of us.
Members of the NDC, have become the conveyer belt for any rubbish he writes, they are ready and willing to share without stop to asking themselves, who or which political party will be next.
To the parties, it is a gangster’s game and the smartest gangster will keep the trophy. What moreA-Plus considers himself the smartest thing God created, so why won’t he and the NDC today huff and puff, if that will mean running down the current administration.
A-Plus is on a collision course with all of us, because he knows they is a market for what he does. We should say no to such people across the political lines and not repost the rubbish they write or say.
The other day I heard he was on Radio Gold, I do not need a soothsayer to tell me what he said, but to think that the radio station, will dedicate a morning show to him to run down members of his political party (NPP) is what baffles me.
Perhaps what has helped A-Plus to maintain and deepen his stranglehold on the country’s political space is that, none of the political party is rational.
If they all bother to know, by now they should know that the man, has become a moral invalid who cares no hoot about the morality of his ambition, so long as it will eventually offer any reward that will make him to remain relevant.
I am sure every night before he retires to bed, he will laugh at all of us and wish we never wake up from our stupidity.
I detest people, who think the only way to correct ills in any organization they belong to, is to wash their dirty linen in public.
A-Plus, has the right to support or not to support any political party of his choice, but he cannot hold all the party to ransom.
He is involved in what I call political blackmail, he goes out and accuse politicians, who are not above reproach of corrupt acts. The cap fits them, because their ways are not straight.
When this administration was birthed without any experience, A-Plus was given contract without any prior experience to lift oil by the Bulk Oil Storage and Transport (BOST). If this is not a case of job for the boys, then I don’t know what it is.
A-Plus insistence that he is the only incorruptible person in this country is crass arrogance. He is no longer in the studio singing, as he shot to fame with, but is neck deep in politics, grabbing whatever can come to him, through fair or foul means.
Members of the NDC who are impervious to honour, are urging him on. It is said that when your neighbor’s beard is on fire, you fetch water close to yours.
Whoever thinks that, what A-Plus is doing is for the love of the country that person must have a rethink.
He raised a lot of dust about the happenings at Korle-bu Teaching Hospital, when the country’s premier hospital last year, decided to abrogate a contract with Unibank to collect revenue for the hospital.
He accused Deputy Chiefs of Staff, Samuel Abu Jinapor and Francis Assenso Boakye, of corruption in the saga.
It later emerged that A-Plus, was acting as aide to the Chief Executive of the Hospital Dr Felix Anya. So in all instances that, he has raised a voice or finger to write something, it is because he has an interest.
He makes no pretences about being a moral cripple that holds fast to the belief that the end justifies the means.
Politics, it is said, is a mind game and if there is one person in this country, who has mastered the art, it is Kwame A-Plus.
