The parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, has assured the chiefs and people of the Constituency that, he would lobby for the construction of an ultra –modern hospital to serve the needs of the electorate in Madina and its environs.
According to Alhaji Abubakar Saddique Boniface, this will be his first priority, if the electorate does him the honour by voting for him in this year’s parliamentary election.
Alhaji Boniface, gave this assurance when he joined the Moslem community of Oyarifa to offer Friday prayers.
He said, in 2017 when he is voted as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, his office together with the La-Nkwatang Municipal Assembly, would work to establish a befitting hospital for the people of the area.
He said, the era where sick people, have to commute from the area all the way to 37 Military Hospital, Ridge Hospital or to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to seek treatment for t various ailments must stop.
He said, Madina, has been one of the fastest growing municipality in the region, but lack most of the amenities that serves the people better.
Even though, the area placed second in the District League Table last year, it lacks the amenities that will directly serve the needs of the people he said.
He added that the establishment of the hospital, is a cardinal priority and “I will not relent on that in office come 2017”.
It is a solemn pledge I am making to the good people of Madina, if you only trust me with your votes come November 7, 2016.
Advising his Moslem brothers and sisters gathered at the Mosque, he said in recent times, bad things have been associated with Moslems when it is not supposed to be so.
He said, many at times issues of terrorism are tag with Moslems when terrorism started with the Irish Royal Army (IRA).
According him, as the issue has escalated has been associated with Moslems and they have painted the picture as if all Moslems are terrorists when in actual fact Islam preaches peace.
He urged them to exhibit traits of peace during and after this year’s parliamentary and presidential elections to correct these misconceptions about Islam.
He added the politics is all about the contest of ideas and seeking the welfare of the electorate not an act to visit mayhem on each other.
He appealed to the youth shun all violent tendencies during and after the general to safeguard the peace the country was enjoying.
He explained that Ghana was described as safe haven in the comity of nations in the West African sub-region because both Christians and Moslems have been able to live in harmony over the years.
