Second runner up of the 2017 MTN hit maker contest, Yaw Berk, has passed a damning comment against winner of the contest, saying she did not deserve the title.
One year after the competition, Yaw Berk, has still not come to terms with that decision. Call his argument ignorant or controversial, but he believes Freda, who made history by becoming the first female winner of the competition, did not deserve it.
According to Yaw Berk, it was very wrong Freda Rhymz was pronounced winner when there were male contestants.
He questioned, “how can a woman win a competition ahead of her male contender”. Lyrically, the artiste said, women come nowhere near men.
Speaking on Angel TV’s ‘E-update last Friday, Yaw Berk, who is managed by beat maker, Kaywa, argued he should have been the winner, because he saw himself as better of the two.
When asked to explain his position, he said it is unheard of for a woman to be announced as a winner of a music contest.
He said his position is evident in the fact that since the inception of the show, no female, has won the contest.
He cited examples, saying it will be outrageous for rapper Sarkodie to compete with a female rapper, Eno and the latter be crowned winner.
Using another international artiste, Yaw Berk, whose argument shocked hostess Akwaa, wondered how Nicky Minaj for instance, can win a contest against Drake and the likes?
In his view, women were created to follow men; they are not expected to outshine men, because when it comes to the brain, men were ahead of women.
