The occasion was also used as a platform to foster unity and cohesion among indigenes.

The 2019 edition was observed under the theme: “Uniting Anlo through its value for the benefits of its citizens and the nation at large”.

Hogbetsotso is the grand procession of chiefs to commemorate the exodus of the Anlo-Ewes from Northern Togo to their present location in the south-eastern wetlands of Ghana.

The festival is anchored on the agenda to assemble cultural heritage bodies to champion the developmental goals of Anlo State.
