It will now take 87 minutes to obtain a DNA result in Ghana, which hitherto took 10 days, following the arrival of an ultra-modern machine.
A US-based ITSI Bio Sciences, has collaborated with Green Medical Center and SCON Security to provide Ghana with a rapid DNA analysis machine.
The machine which is being hosted at the Green Medical Center, has cut down on the days to get a result for DNA test.
The facility will now offer DNA analysis service in the area of health, human identification, law enforcement [criminal investigation] and agriculture.
Speaking at the outdooring of the machine, the U.S Ambassador to Ghana, Robert Porter Jackson, said the collaboration was part of efforts to pull US companies to invest in African economies.
“ITSI Bio Sciences joins hundreds that have found their home in Ghana. In fact this partnership is the direct result of last September’s largest ever US government trade mission to Africa. The United States government and the US business community see Africa as an important partner that will shape the world business environment for years to come.”
The Ministry of Health, believes the partnership will serve as major mile stone geared at changing the health paradigm.
