To uplift the image of Ghanaian women to enable them fend for their families within the communities and be able to support their families, First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, has facilitated a whopping amount of Gh¢284,700.00 MASLOC loans to be disbursed to traders in the region.
The women on their part, expressed their appreciations to the First Lady, saying she is a mother who always cares for her children.
The women are made up of 29 groups with 10 in each group; were selected across the region after going through assessments to qualify for the loan facility.
Information gathered by The Herald during the disbursement exercise attended by the MASLOC Chief Executive, indicated that the women after forming groups, put their request before the First Lady to come to their aid, by assisting them in getting financial support to grow their businesses.
The First Lady, seeing how determined the women were about doing something for the survival of their dependents, contacted MASLOC to support them and other women across the country with their loan facilities.
This enabledMASLOC boss, Mrs. SedinaTamakloe-Attionu to mobilize funds to be disbursed to the women groups, who are working to support their families.
Speaking to the women, Mrs. SedinaTamakloeAttionu, entreated them not to disappoint the First Lady by paying back the loans advanced to them on time, so that others can also have the opportunity to benefit, saying she has realized that the kind of love the First Lady has for women is
She, therefore tasked them to work hard with the loan in other to pay on time, while at the same time save the profits towards the expansion of their businesses.
The women on their part, assured the management of MASLOC to use the loan for the purposes it was given for in other to pay back on time for others to benefit.
However, the loan facility advanced to the women attracts only two percent and the women are to use six months as the repayment time, as they will be paying per a week.
