A six-year old boy, Nana Adjei, has been burnt by fire at a residence at Assesim, a suburb of Agona Swedru.
The unfortunate incident happened on October 28 in a house, with number AS 891/1 which is about 250 meters from the Agona Swedru District charge office.
Speaking to The Herald, the Agona Swedru Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Nana Asomah Hinneh said, the father of the deceased, Mr. Adjei Adjetey, went to town at about 8pm leaving the six year old boy to sleep.
He said at about 10pm in the night, smoke was detected from his room and immediately, the Fire Service was called in to salvage the situation, while the police also went in to ensure order at the place
He continued that when the Fire Service, managed to control the fire, they found a young male child, who has been charred by the fire.
ACP Asomah Hinneh said, an immediate investigation has started by the Fire Service to identify the cause of fire.
The body of the young boy, has been place at the morgue of the Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital, pending an autopsy, after which the body would be released to the family for burial.
ACP Nana Asomah Hinneh advised that, people should be careful, especially as we approach the dry season, so that they would be able to get rid of some of these unfortunate incidents.
