Faustina Nelson Grabs GJA Honorary Award

The Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), has conferred honorary awards on veteran politician and entrepreneur, Madam Faustina Nelson for her immense contribution towards press freedom in the country.

The veteran politician and entrepreneur, according to GJA, has shown her admiration for the role of journalism in society, through consistent support for the GJA over the years and the celebration of world press freedom day, on every May 3, and the organization of the GJA Awards.

“Your long time ambition was to become a journalist’ and although that you could not attain, you have remained loyal to the profession; you have been a fountain of sympathy for the association and a promoter of peaceful resolution of misunderstandings that arise among members.

You are staunch believer that journalists and by extension the media are indispensable in the establishment of democracy and are a catalyst for development. You have demonstrated your admiration for the role of journalism in society, through consistent support for the GJA over the years by way of donation in cash or kind, towards the celebration of world press freedom day, on every May 3rd, and the organization of the GJA Awards.
