… Undertakes Revision Courses For Foreign Trained Medical Doctors
Family Health Medical School, Ghana’s premier private medical School, is offering a revision courses for foreign Trained Medical Doctors at the school’s Auditorium, opposite Kofi Annan Peace- Keeping Training Centre in Accra.
This was disclosed in an interview with the President of Family Health Medical School, Prof. Yao Kwawukume, who said, Family Health Medical School, has been accredited by the Medical and Dental Council to run an access or revision course for foreign trained medical Doctors in the country.
He said, it was a requirement from the Medical and Dental Council that foreign trained medical Doctors, take an exam to qualify them to practice in the country.
The Family Health Medical School, has been selected to organize a revision course for the foreign trained Doctors to complement Government’s effort in partnering the private sector to train more doctors for the nation as stated by President John Dramani Mahama, when giving an address as the
Special Guest of Honour at the Matriculation ceremony of Family Health Medical School.
Revision courses to be organized by Family Health Medical School, Prof. Kwawukume mentioned includes; Family Nursing, Community Health, Child Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Surgery and Allied Departments, and Internal Medicine.
The revision course with a duration of 20 weeks, according to him, will commenced June 9, 2016 at the school Auditorium, indicating that foreign trained Medical Doctors, who want to register should call 0205180038/0553017368 or email; fhmedschool@ gmail.com.
Family Health Medical School, is affiliated to the University of Ghana (UG) and accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB).
The school, has both Ghanaian and International Professors as lecturers. It also has collaborations with medical schools in America, Europe and Asia.
Family Health Medical School has modern facilities such as the Tim Johnson Library Complex with a lot of unique tools for learning including;
Telemedicine facilities, an E-library, spacious hall of Anatomy arguably the biggest in the sub- region for the dissection of Cadavers (dead bodies) and Computerised Facilities to view different parts of the human body.
The school has well-equipped labotatories for Physiology/Biochemistry, Pharmacology/Chemical pathology.
The School also has an ultra modern hostel facilities and environment that is good for learning.
